Lemmy’s Ashes Enshrined At Germany’s Wacken Open Air Festival

Motorhead‘s surviving members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee have enshrined late frontman Lemmy Kilmister‘s ashes at the Lemmy’s Bar in the German village of Wacken.

They also displayed a surprise performance at the Wacken Open Air Festival.

Speaking about the memorial in a video, Dee said, “We’d like to spread it around the whole world [at whatever big festivals that we enjoyed, or Lemmy enjoyed. His spirit has always been here, or at these festivals, and now we have a little bit of a physical deal here as well.”

“People come and pay their respects for a long, long time to come,” Campbell said.

Earlier, Campbell and Dee led a parade featuring floats from the festival site that ended at Lemmy’s Bar.

The Motorhead guitarist and drummer then placed Kilmister’s ashes in a display case next to his hat, boots, bass guitar, and Marshall stack.
