Sum 41 recently paid tribute to Rage Against The Machine by sharing a live cover of the rock band’s 1999 hit “Sleep Now In The Fire.”

Sum 41 uploaded their cover of the song, which was played at last year’s Hellfest in France.

“In the light of the news of @RATM never performing again, we wanted to salute one of our all time favorite bands. Here’s our cover of “Sleep Now in the Fire” live at @hellfestopenair 2023,” says a caption to the video.

Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk announced last week that the band will not be touring or staging any live performances again.

Guitarist Tom Morello was the only member of the band to attend a ceremony held in November when Rage Against The Machine was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Sum 41 had already announced that they are disbanding after releasing their final album, Heaven :x: Hell, and its supporting world tour.

The Canadian pop-punk band, comprised of Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason “Cone” McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo, is expected to release its eighth studio album in Spring 2024.
