Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain has once again sued his bandmate Neal Schon for his lavish overspending on the group’s credit card. This lawsuit echoes a 2022 legal battle between the two musicians where Schon was accused of charging over $1 million in personal expenses to the band’s shared credit card. This current lawsuit was filed on Tuesday (July 30), with Cain alleging that Schon maxed out the band’s American Express credit card with a $1 million limit, exceeded his $1,500-per-night hotel allowance, and chartered private jets for himself. Cain also alleges that Schon is preventing the band from paying off their debts.

Cain and Schon are currently on tour together with Journey, taking part in a summer tour of North America with Def Leppard. In the lawsuit, Cain says that the musicians’ financial battle does not affect their shows, writing, “The band’s actual onstage performance is, at the moment, one of the only aspects of the business that has not suffered.” (Consequence of Sound)
