Bright Eyes planned to tour extensively in support of their just released new album, Five Dice, All Threes. But the Omaha-based rock band was forced to cancel all their remaining live dates in 2024 due to the ongoing vocal problems of frontman Conor Oberst. This news follows the band’s prior cancellations of their three planned record release shows last week, which included a high-profile appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago. “We regret to announce that we will have to cancel our shows for the rest of the year including in Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas and Europe,” the band wrote in an Instagram post on Friday (September 27). “Over the past week, Conor has undergone multiple tests to determine the cause of his recent vocal problems. It’s come to light that he has developed a condition that is exacerbated by excessive singing, requiring both treatment and recuperation. We are confident that with a successful regimen, and continued medical attention, we will be able to return to the road next year.” (Pitchfork)
