Pixies recently released two brand-new singles “You’re So Impatient” and “Que Sera, Sera.”
The release marks the band’s first new music since 2022’s Doggerel. A press release says the new songs see Pixies create “a macabre and cinematic picture of American pop culture.”
The release describes “You’re So Impatient” as “an explosive two-minute, nine-second Zombie attack at the mall.”
“‘You’re So Impatient’ is a slightly comedic suburban culture moment: there’s this guy, there’s this gal, there’s this tug-of-love dynamic going on. But the backdrop is the mall. And while the mall is crass, it’s also a very zombie, rock ‘n’ roll horror movie setting.” Pixies frontman Black Francis said.
About “Que Sera, Sera,” the press release says, the band has turned Doris Day‘s 1950 hit into “a dark folk tale told anew through the lens of a sci-fi monster epic.”
A limited edition 7″ vinyl pressing of the double A-side track is set to arrive on July 9.
