Queens Of The Stone Age recently released a video for “Negative Space,” a song from their latest album, In Times New Roman…
The video, directed by Liam Lynch, shows a holographic figure in a leather jacket and gas mask drifting through a zero-gravity sci-fi scene.
In “Negative Space,” Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen play the unique blend of scratchy and slide guitars that made them hard rock titans back during the first decade of this century. Michael Shuman‘s bass play is more akin to the band’s recent experiments in funk.
Explaining his inspiration for the “Negative Space” clip, Lynch said, “Acceptance is lonely, messy, and tough, especially when it’s all that is left. This video takes place between the end and a beginning. It’s the desperate and lost, message-in-a-bottle emotions that are tossed out and let float away. No action required.”
