Talking Heads‘ 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense, is set to mark its 40th anniversary by returning to theaters on January 27. The movie will be screened in several theaters in the U.S., Canada and U.K.
According to Variety, Stop Making Sense will have “monthly residency screenings” in several cities during the re-run, including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and others.
A collector’s edition Blu-ray will be available to purchase at every screening.
A24 has bagged the worldwide rights to the landmark movie. The film company will release a special collection of merchandise at select theaters.
A24 teased a Stop Making Sense tribute album earlier this month. The special will feature a cover of “Burning Down the House” by Paramore, and recordings by 15 other artists.
