The Killers surprised their fans by dropping a new single on social media on Christmas Day, December 25.

“Santa’s got a brand new song in his bag. Merry Christmas!” the band wrote. The untitled song is a four-minute, new wave/goth-inspired guitar-driven track.

Meanwhile, the Killers dropped Rebel Diamonds on December 8 via Island Records. The album serves as the second greatest hits collection by the Killers, following Direct Hits (2013).

The compilation includes 20 tracks, starting with songs from their debut album Hot Fuss (2004) and spanning their subsequent albums, including Sam’s Town, Day & Age, Battle Born, Wonderful Wonderful, Imploding the Mirage, and Pressure Machine.

The band are set to embark on tour of the U.K. and Ireland next summer in support of Rebel Diamonds. The band will headline two nights each at Dublin’s 3Arena and Glasgow’s OVO Hydo and play three shows at Co-op Live in Manchester and the O2 Arena in London between June 14 and July 7.
