Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has praised Macklemore‘s new pro-Palestinian protest song, “Hinds Hall.”
“Honestly @macklemore’s ‘Hind’s Hall’ is the most Rage Against The Machine song since Rage Against The Machine,” Morello wrote on X.
Macklemore recently shared the track, which is inspired by the ongoing student demonstrations across U.S. campuses in protest against Israel’s attack of Gaza, on his social media accounts.
The lyrics of the nearly three-minute long song include, “If the West was pretending that you didn’t exist you’d want the world to stand up and the students finally did.”
Macklemore says that when the track is shared on streaming services, all proceeds will go to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees.
Last week, Police arrested more than 100 pro-Palestinian demonstrators at Columbia University and City College of New York who were demanding U.S. companies divest from Israel due to its occupation and military assault on Gaza.
